Committee for
Athletic Excellence & Performance
A Parent
Organization serving HLPUSD
(Hacienda La
Puente Unified School District)
There is a
grassroots parent organization being formed district wide entitled CAEP
(Committee for Athletic Excellence & Performance) designed to:
- Publicize on the CAEP website athletic excellence (team and individual) of
every HLP organized CIF sport
- Provide pictures, bios and stats of all willing athletes from HLP from all
CIF sports
- Provide selected video highlights of willing HLPUSD students similar to
Rivals.com
- Provide fitness information (i.e. building stronger muscles, etc.) eating
habits, testimonials of successful college, pro athletes - testimonials of
HLP graduates and where they are now in life.
- Provide valid and accurate training tips and guidelines
- Provide a monitored blog
- Provide a parents section
- Provide an Academic Honor roll each reporting period (High school and
middle schools) of those participating in competitive sports
- Provide a current list of all HLP graduates who have received athletic
scholarships and where they are studying
- Provide an extensive section concerning College recruiting, timetables,
athletic scholarships, and strategic web links
- Provide a 20 lesson summation of SAT exam material
- Hopefully in time- provide college scholarships to outstanding athletes -
who do not receive other athletic scholarships
- Promote aggressive athletics but discourage malicious acts to harm an
opponent
- We are in the process of forming the initial committee - we would like
representation from every middle and high school - (1) to act as a liaison
between CAEP and the schools (2) provide the student athletes with
information and brochures (see below) (3) be in communication with the
student athletes as well as parents - these "members" would be
called the "site coordinators"
- We are already designing the CAEP website - which we believe will be very
impressive - we are going to present this committee and its goals and
objectives in an upcoming School Bard Meeting
- When the website is completed (though it will always be changing) and
shown to the School Bard for their approval/blessing - we will notify every
college athletic director in the nation to look at the caliber of HLPUSD
athletes from every CIF sport // the website will be so sophisticated that
the Water Polo coach at Nebraska will be able to make one click and go to
the CAEP water polo site // the website will be able to send out specific
information to any email address if so requested
- Next school year at the beginning of the year CAEP will provide three
brochures to be passed out to every student athlete in the district (one of
our initial goals)
- The Health risks and factors concerning steroids and substance abuse
- The Difference between Aggressive Athleticism and Malicious Intent to
Harm an opposing player
- What College Recruiters are Looking for
Interest and support for this needed support group is evident by the initial
responses from parents and coaches from many HLP schools. If you would like to
comment or offer advice please contact me.
